Apple versus Toshiba: CCDS’s policy and students’ perspectives


By Caroline Gentile ‘13, News Editor. Over the years, many students have wondered why they are required to buy a Toshiba Tablet instead of an Apple laptop. Some argue that Macs are not only sleeker, but much more reliable and easy to use in comparison to the tablets we use at CCDS. Although Apple computers do have their benefits, Toshiba tablets are not at all inferior to them.

Missing computers still missing


By Avery Maier ‘13, News Editor. Many students can’t wait until the day when they can get their new computer. The excitement builds and finally they walk into the tech office and get that new machine. On August 17, when students eagerly walked into the tech office, their smiles slowly changed into frowns as they learned they wouldn’t be getting their new machines that day because Toshiba had messed up Country Day’s order.

Tablet Conferences showcase technology program


By Avery Maier, ’13, Contributor. CCDS, the first school in the country to implement a one-to-one laptop program, held its most recent Tablet Conference the week of Oct. 19. At Tablet Conferences, educators from all over the world come to see the school’s innovative use of technology, especially tablet PCs, in action.
