Mr. John Carriero leaving CCDS, heading for San Francisco


By Victoria Mairal-Cruz ‘12, Lens Editor. This time next year, Country Day math teacher John Carriero will be living in San Francisco, California, where he may be doing anything from helping the Department of Defense write cryptography algorithms to working on developing the latest software.

Programming no longer a graduation requirement

Science Olympiad rises above competition, qualifies for State


By Holly Dayton ’13, Perspectives Editor. After a spectacular performance this past Saturday at the Cincinnati Regional Competition, the Science Olympiad team is advancing to State, to compete against the 40 best teams in Ohio.

Science Olympiad qualifies for State

Shortly after the torch for Winter Olympics was extinguished, another breed of Olympians, the CCDS Science Olympiad team, competed at the Regional Science Olympiad competition at Raymond Walters College. The team earned district honors at the Saturday, March 6 event, placing fourth out of 24 of the top teams in Cincinnati and qualifying for the State competition.
