Administration proposes plans to increase enrollment

In four to five years, CCDS administrators plan for the school to have 830 students, about 60 students more than the current enrollment, with most of the growth coming in the Middle and Upper Schools. In addition to expanding aid further, other tactics to increase the number of students include grassroots word of mouth efforts and a marketing plan.

Enrollment applications up 15% this year


By Avery Maier, ‘13, News Editor. This year, CCDS has received 240 applications for admission, 15% more than this time last year. 140 of the 240 have been accepted. Of the 140 accepted, 60 students have committed so far to attending CCDS in the fall, putting the school 20 students ahead as compared to last year at this time.

Merit scholarships, enrollment initiatives attract new students


By Haleigh Miller, ‘12, News Editor. A new Founders’ Scholarship Award–a larger and farther-reaching merit scholarship program than the school has offered in the past–has already attracted the attention of applicants, according to Director of Admissions Aaron Kellenberger.

Parents’ Association introduces new enrollment initiative


By Holly Dayton, ’13, Contributor. Last Wednesday, parents, alumni, and teachers gathered to discuss the importance of a healthy enrollment and how to keep enrollment numbers up during this economic downturn.

Nineteen new students join Upper School


The Upper School welcomes 19 new students, continuing a trend of 16 to 20 new students a year that began in the 2003-2004 school year. Despite the large number of new students, this year’s Upper School is slightly smaller, partly because the freshman class is slightly smaller than last year’s senior class. Overall, CCDS has 25 to 30 fewer students than last year.
