COLLEGE ESSAY: Baldur Tangvald to attend USC School of Cinematic Arts


Rainor and I used to fight. Physically fight, like brothers sometimes do. Once he tried stealing my taquitos. I just could not let that happen. It was never anything big though; we may have been distressed because of school and if there was a catalyst, perhaps a disagreement over underhanded tactics in Halo, the next thing I’d know, there were flailing arms.

The administration has been dipping into its wide range of talent in the student body recently. Seniors Ilana Habib and Baldur Tangvald were asked to employ their respective skills in photography and film to help the school’s new marketing campaign by Ologie, a marketing firm out of Columbus.

Seniors describe CCDS in three words

In the past these gifts have usually taken the form of themed baskets full of small presents. But this year, to go along with the new name, Rock the Date, the gifts have become more creative.

CCDS artists win 28 awards in regional Scholastic Art & Writing competition

Student Council explores creation of student IDs

When students from a different school bring their student IDs and get a discount on their popcorn at a movie theater, it can be irksome to CCDS students who can’t receive the same discount because they are not endowed with those coveted cards. With a few extra dollars, one could add gummy worms or a pack of Sour Patch Kids to their order. If the administration allows the creation of CCDS student IDs, CCDS students will soon be able to receive those movie discounts as well as a multitude of other benefits.

Senior leadership brings soccer success


By Edwin Sam ‘13, Sports Editor. The CCDS Boys and Girls Soccer teams had extraordinary captains that inspired their teams to go the extra mile to win close games. The captains, or skippers as informally called in soccer, played well on a consistent basis and made everybody want to emulate their aggression and determination to get big wins.

PERSPECTIVE: Cantor voices support for dress code changes

When I looked at it, I saw that the administration had decided to revert to the old policy of no sweaters and mandatory collars under hoodies. I really thought they had a made a mistake.

Ten seniors named National Merit Semifinalists


By Amanda Young ‘11, Co-Editor-in-Chief. Ten members of the Class of 2011 have been named National Merit Semifinalist. The Semifinalists make up 18.9 percent of this year’s seniors, the highest percentage of Semifinalists in any senior class in Cincinnati.
