Students earn recognition in Overtures and Scholastics


By Rebecca Miller, ‘12, Contributor. Senior Alyssa Magarian and Lilly Fleischmann, ’11, both have been named finalists in the prestigious Overture Awards Competition. In the Scholastic Arts Regional Competition, juniors Ilana Habib and Amanda Young, whose collage is depicted, earned Gold Keys, while Jessup Smith,’10, and Jonas Luebbers,’12, earned Silver Keys.

Magarian, Breneman, Smith in “Closer than Ever”


By Jordan Komnick, ‘11, Video Editor. This past weekend, three CCDS students appeared in Closer than Ever, a musical revue, with the Cincinnati Actors Studio. With lyrics by Richard Maltby Jr. and music by David Shire, this show delivers. Alyssa Magarian, ’10, Ali Brenemen, ’11, and Catherine Smith, ’12, performed with eight other actors in the show, which explores the emotions and difficulties of romance and relationships.
