Mandarin Chinese to be offered as after-school club

By Avery Maier, ‘13, Contributor. While CCDS has a very prominent language program, until now the languages available for study have been limited to French and Spanish. Beginning Nov. 2, Mandarin Chinese will be offered as an after-school club to all divisions of CCDS.

Fall play is “All in the Timing”

School Nurse Diana Wyrick suggests maintaining a good diet, getting enough sleep, washing your hands frequently, using good judgment about staying home when you’re ill, and getting the seasonal flu and H1N1 vaccines.

39 Students earn AP recognition

39 Students earn AP recognition

By Isaac Guttman, ’10, News Editor. Of the 1.7 million students worldwide who took Advanced Placement exams last May, 18 percent scored high enough to earn recognition. At CCDS, 39 members of the Classes of 2009 and 2010 achieved such distinction.

Julie Fleischmann to lead Board of Trustees

Getting an M.B.A. at Harvard Business School is like taking a test every day: each night you have to work on a case, and you must be prepared to present and defend that case in class the next day. Julie Fleischmann, the first female president of the Board of Trustees, went through this rigorous experience at Harvard and said that it taught her to “look at situations and issues and say, how can we solve this problem [and] be action-oriented in your thinking.”
