Rebecca Miller, ’12, started writing in seventh grade after attending a camp at Women Writing for (a) Change, but even before then poems and stories were always “playing in [her] head.” She mainly writes free verse poetry; however, she also likes writing “little stories.” Her favorite writers include J. K. Rowling, Sarah Dessen, and Billy Collins. In college, she plans to pursue education as a major, perhaps with a minor in math or theater. Rebecca shares one of her pieces called “Differences.”

Rainor Tangvald, like his fellow CCDS seniors, is off to a great college where he plans to pursue his dream: filmmaking.

In film, nothing happens without teamwork: directors of photography, key grips, costume designers, producers. That’s one outlet for students to establish connections and essentially mimic the industry as undergraduates.

After looking into other mediums, senior Hazel Mullan has found that nothing can compare to the love she has for film. Even though she likes photography, she believes that “life isn’t just different shots; it’s continuous like film.”
