Treasured teachers Mrs. Rockwell and Mrs. Menter bid adieu to CCDS

As the 2009-2010 school year ended, CCDS said good-bye to two teachers that have inspired countless students to reach higher and dream bigger than they thought they could. Together, Mrs. Marge Rockwell and Mrs. Bobbie Menter have taught a combined 46 years in CCDS’s Middle and Lower Schools. Mrs. Rockwell will be leaving the CCDS community to move to Atlanta with her husband, and Mrs. Menter will be retiring from teaching.

Armstead’s run to state caps off successful girls track season

On Friday, June 4th, 2010, Erika Armstead finished third in the Ohio state long jump event. This strong finish brought to a close a season in which the Indians won their third consecutive MVC championship and their 20th district title since 1985.

New teachers to join Upper School faculty

The Most Valuable Player for three years in a row, Lemen has become the face of Country Day softball, and plans to continue playing at the collegiate level at Knox College.

They’ve been compared to bands like Coldplay, Snow Patrol, and Travis for their soft rock, alternative sound.

Mexican exchange students expose CCDS students to another culture

By Victoria Mairal-Cruz, ‘12, Contributor. From April 16 to May 10, Mexican exchange students from the school Escuela Anexa de Atlacomulco in Atlacomulco, Mexico, visited Cincinnati and CCDS. Students throughout our school had the opportunity to mix with another culture, in addition to helping the exchange students practice their English.
